What: Food and drink. At Eugenius we're not into fancy names and menus you don't understand. Maybe Mary and Eugene, the two owners cum cooks cum baristas cum waiters are just too old and cynical. Our concept is simple - make everyday, buy whatever looks good at the market, change with the season, and have some fun!

The following is an excerpt of their initial convo. (It went over many sessions not to mention beers.)
Eugene: "I just like good food. I don't care if the carrots come from the left side of the field, but we can charge more if we crank up the wank factor. "
Mary: "Nah, I hate going out and paying a lot for nothing much. At Eugenius there'll be nothing over $20. There's no business like repeat business."
Eugene: "I agree. I've lived in the area my whole life so let's give locals a discount, and also discount if people bring their own cups."
Mary: "The coffee has to be good."
Eugene: "I like it black, strong and hot - like I like my women."
Mary: "I think you've had enough to drink."

Where: Windsor. Eugenius cafe is located on the ground floor of Eugenius in the heart of Windsor in Prahran, close to Chapel St., on the corner of High St. and Hornby St.(entrance from Hornby St.) diagonally across the road from Centrelink, behind 4M and opposite the Prahran Club. Parking is available in our carpark next door in Hornby St. or else on High St. The Windsor side of High St. is ok for parking at the moment, but wait until all the mooted flats are built then we may have a problem! You can take tram number 6 from Swanston St. in the CBD and get off at stop 32 (first stop past Chapel St.) Prahran and Windsor railway stations are close by. Better still walk! Prahran is full of interesting little shops, cafes and bars. You may have to walk from here actually, after having one of our potent espresso martinis!

When: Eugenius cafe is open Monday to Friday from 7.45 a.m. till about 2.30pm or earlier if the food runs out.
We are open both Satuday and Sunday from 8.30am till 5pm

Our bar opens Thurs and Friday from 5pm till 11pm.

Eugenius blends its own teas from organically grown herbs and spices. 'Windsor is changing and I must adapt. Increasing urbanisation, more cars - I'm sick of hassling with traffic, crowded Prahran streets... I want to stay put, secluded in my cocoon.
